چکیده

1. INTRODUCTION While traditional analog systems still form the vast majority of television sets today, production studios, broadcasters and network providers have been installing digital video equipment at an ever-increasing rate. The border line between analog and digital video is moving closer and closer to the consumer. Digital satellite and cable service have been available for a while, and recently terrestrial digital television broadcast has been introduced in a number of locations around the world.

Hypergraph Based Visual Segmentation and Retrieval

This chapter explores original techniques for the construction of hypergraph models for computer vision applications. A hypergraph is a generalization of a pairwise simple graph, where an edge can connect any number of vertices. The expressive power of the hypergraph models places a special emphasis on the relationship among three or more objects, which has made hypergraphs better models of cho...

Statistical Analysis on Manifolds and Its Applications to Video Analysis

The analysis and interpretation of video data is an important component of modern vision applications such as biometrics, surveillance, motionsynthesis and web-based user interfaces. A common requirement among these very different applications is the ability to learn statistical models of appearance and motion from a collection of videos, and then use them for recognizing actions or persons in ...

Deep Learning Architectures for Face Recognition in Video Surveillance

Face recognition (FR) systems for video surveillance (VS) applications attempt to accurately detect the presence of target individuals over a distributed network of cameras. In video-based FR systems, facial models of target individuals are designed a priori during enrollment using a limited number of reference still images or video data. These facial models are not typically representative of ...

Facial Expression Recognition Using 3D Facial Feature Distances

Face plays an important role in human communication. Facial expressions and gestures incorporate nonverbal information which contributes to human communication. By recognizing the facial expressions from facial images, a number of applications in the field of human computer interaction can be facilitated. Last two decades, the developments, as well as the prospects in the field of multimedia si...

13 Elements for a Neural Theory of the Processing of Dynamic Faces

Face recognition has been a central topic in computer vision for at least two decades and progress in recent years has been significant. Automated face recognition systems are now widespread in applications ranging from surveillance to personal computers. In contrast, only a handful of neurobiologically plausible computational models have been proposed to try to explain the processing of faces ...
